Updates

I keep forgetting to update ya'all on a few items that I've been asked...

Yes we did get the plumbing problem fixed. My handy (not) husband did fix it himself (over the next couple of days) and everything is back to normal (except I can't use a plug in my kitchen sink for some reason and the wall behind the sink in the bathroom is kind of black still, but the smell is mostly gone). There are no leaks (we keep a bucket under the sink just to be sure) and we didn't have to pay a plumber to unplug the pipes (we only spent 30$ for parts and went 2 days without a kitchen or bathroom sink). We are getting the hang of this home ownership thing.

My new electric bill was 202.00. That's a savings of 566.00. Wow! Glad I called the Electric Company.

I figured out how to get my wood floors clean. Solution: Let your 20 month old alone for 5 minutes so he can get a hold of the dish soap and squirt it allllllll around the kitchen floor. Yes, lots and lots of soap does the trick.

Ooo the dish soap.. Not fun.

You know what else does the trick, toss in two down comforters in your washing machine... and make sure your machine is a little off balance. Set the giant SuperMEGA Costco size bottle of Tide Ultra Concentrated (the kind where you use a teaspoon per load) then walk away for an hour or so and just enjoy the sound of your washing machine shaking during the spin cycle.
Come back in and notice the lovely blue gel all over your floors from the Tide bottle that shimmied off the top of the washing machine and broke open on the floor.
DO NOT ADD WATER, because it only spreads it around, and makes bubbles up to your knees.

My grout has never been so clean.

Oops... meant to say make sure the TIDE bottle sits ON TOP of your washer

oh...or you could leave your kids at home when they are a little older and while you are gone they can spray liquid soap on the floor and then spray lots of water from the the sink faucet so that they can "ice skate" and slip and slide.... :)
And then you could try to find a way into the house because they won't unlock the doors because they are frantically trying to clean it allup before you see it.... Grandma H

Wendy, your mess sounds bigger than mine! And self imposed...:) those are the worst. At least I had somebody to blame it on.
