And I Cook Dinner Because??

I tried a delicious Cooking Light recipe that my friend Leigh recommended tonight.
Well, I thought it was delicious anyway. Nick refused to touch it, Gavin threw it on the floor, and Ryan ate half and then told me it "tastes like something yucky". I can't remember a weeknight where Dad was home to eat with us, so basically I spend 30+ minutes cooking a hot dinner that the kids won't touch and I might get a bite or two of standing up while the they are in the bath. I know that there are three of you out there whose kids eat everything you serve them, congratulations, your kids probably do everything they are told and learned how to read when they were 2 also. While I love to cook, dinnertime has turned into a dreaded hour at our house. But this recipe really is very tasty, if you ask me and not my kids!

I am ROFL right now because that was the exact scenario played out in my house tonight! Exact! I tried a recipe of a friends that I really liked when she made it and I thought it was kid friendly. What a waste of time...they would have been happy with mac and cheese and I wouldn't have a kitchen to clean up. Oh well..I guess we do what we can. And don't stop cooking because your my inspiration!! I make several of your recipe's all the time.

It sounds like me last two evening meals. I loved yesterdays, but everyone refused to eat them except Rob and I and even Rob told me to put it on the bottom of the list.

I'm totally trying this recipe! i have to say that I'm starting to understand this since I had Charlotte. Barrett has been one of those weird kids who seriously eats just about anything we put in front of him. But Charlotte has been a totally different story. I watch in amazement as every single thing we put on her highchair tray is throw over the edge. I guess we can all feel better knowing that this is norm, rather than the exception, and that most kids still grow into normal, healthy adults.

My kids learned to read at 1 and a half thank you very much.

I mean, mine actually do ususally eat but they complain etc... however they have learned that what I make for dinner is what's for dinner. End of story.
