Middle finger mishap

A week ago I enthusiastically started trimming our bushes out front. A little too enthusiastically. Four hours at the ER and 5 stitches later, I still have half the landscaping left to trim, not to mention the lawn needs to be edged and mowed. I have a much greater appreciation for the lawn service provided by our HOA fees in our townhouse, and I'm looking forward to the winter break from lawn care... oh yeah, and the idea I had about going back to school for a degree in nursing? Not gonna happen.

Ouch! Where is Shawn? Aren't the husbands suppose to do the outside work? Shame on him!

That's what everyone asks. You can't do yard work in the dark and our weekends have been busy!

Ouuccchhhh! I have my new electric hedge trimmer charging as I'm typing and now I'm a bit scared to use it! Do you have any tips for me?

yes i do - they don't work very well on seagrass bushes, kept getting stuck and clogging the trimmers, sooooo i held the part i was trimming off taut and.... best advice would be keep both hands on the trimmer at all times!

OUCH! I'm so sorry! Apparently I am never getting a nursing degree because just the photo of your finger made me nauseous!

Ewwww! I'm so sorry! That just hurts looking at it. You poor thing! And then to have to do anything else - like more yardwork. You're a real trooper.

oh, an-- i'm sorry! that looks painful! i hear ya on the yardwork, though. patrick pictches in when he can, but i've had to do a lot myself if i don't want to have to wait months for him to get a chance to do it all! (although he's had a lot more free time lately. . . that's good for us, but not sure about what that's gonna mean for the job!)

I'm pretty sure this injury precludes you from EVER having to do yardwork again!!

Owwwww! Does this means you're off yard duty?

That's nasty, and I am a nurse! Ron had a snake crawl on him while we were doing yard work. I'd say yard work is one of the biggest negatives to owning a house, but it's sure fun to play in the yard!

I have to comment....that is one sick picture of my girl's poor finger. Can't believe you went home and immediately fired the hedge trimmer back up to complete the job. Crazy girl! Mary L.

Ew, that looks like it hurts so bad! I probably would have passed out had I done that to myself!
